McAfee Coliseum, a 120 acre facility, was constructed in 1966 at a cost of $25.5 million. This multi-purpose sports complex features a 165,000 sq. ft. playing field. is home to the Oakland Athletics and the Oakland's NFL franchise. In 1995, the coliseum began undergoing a 1-year renovation project that called for the removal of outfield bleachers, which were replaced by 22,000 seats, two 40,000 sq. ft. clubs, 125 luxury suites, a 9,000 sq. ft. kitchen, two-matrix scoreboard and two new color video boards.
